Bakery chain Greggs is currently trialling a delivery service called Gregg’s Delivered in the City of London and two locations in Newcastle.

Greggs Delivered launches in London

The free delivery service to businesses and homes by Greggs is to become available in cities across the country.

Orders (of a £20 minimum spend) of products like sausage rolls, pastries and pasties are being delivered to homes and offices.

As of Monday (16th January) the company deliversw within 0.4 miles of its branches on Cheapside and Eastcheap in the City of London, with other London locations planned later in the year.

The delivery service is also currently being trialled in Newcastle’s city centre and at Cobalt Business Park.

Raymond Reynolds, retail director at Greggs, said: "Convenience is key in the food-on-the-go market, and we’re extremely excited to offer delivery of a selection of our great tasting freshly prepared food directly to our customers, by trialling a free delivery service in two of our London shops.”

Users of the Greggs Delivered service simply have to head to the online website and select a delivery location and date – you can order up to ten days in advance.

Then peruse a menu that includes a selection of sandwich platters, crisps, cold drinks, salads, and cookie bags (plus plenty more) before paying by card.

The delivery service looks to have been catered to office workers in the City of London. A strapline claims that ‘it’s never been simpler to order for your meeting, event or office’, and the online service allows a shared Greggs account for organisations with more than one user.

To order, customers should visit www.greggs.co.uk/delivery and select their location.
