Heron Foods has recalled its Basted Turkey Breast Joint due to a production error.
The error has meant that some packs contain a Turkey Roulette wrapped in bacon which contains sulphur dioxide not mentioned on the packaging.
This poses a possible health risk to those with a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites.
The recall specifically refers to Heron Foods’ 615 gram Basted Turkey Breast Joint with a best before date of November 2016.
The company has issued a point-of-sale notice and will be contacting the relevant allergy support organisations, who will tell their members about the recall.
In its statement Heron Foods said: “There is a small chance that some packs have an incorrect label on which does not state all ingredients. As a precautionary measure we are recalling the whole batch.
“Any customers who have bought this product can return it to Heron Foods for a full refund.”
No other Heron Foods products are known to be affected by this recall.
