In the company of celebrity chef John Torode, the 2017 Food Management Today Industry Awards ceremony on Friday 3rd February brought together top names in the food industry – and saw the meat sector triumph in 11 of the 16 awards categories.

Winners of the awards, as voted for by the readers of Meat Management’s sister magazine Food Management Today and judged by industry experts, included AHDB Beef & Lamb which won Best Training Initiative for The Meat Education Programme and Samworth Brothers which won Food Manufacturer of the Year.

In the product categories, The Thoughtful Producer won Best Poultry Product for The Thoughtful Producer Free Range Chicken, ABP won Best Red Meat product for its Asda Extra Special Wagyu Ribeye Steak, 2 Sisters Red Meat won Best Frozen Product for its Iceland Luxury Surf & Turf and Linden Foods won Best New Product Development for its Marks & Spencer Pork Saltimbocca.

Multivac was crowned Best Equipment/Machinery Supplier and Newly Weds Foods Ltd won Best Ingredients Supplier, while the Food Retailer of the Year accolade went to Tesco.

Around 300 guests attended the highly successful Awards Luncheon at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, to network and celebrate with the winning companies, products and organisations.
