This years Meat Management Meat Industry Awards is set to be another record year with over 600 products entered for evaluation, and voting for other categories including the Excellence Award, well up on 2013. Last year a record 528 products were entered and the Awards ceremony dinner was also a record for the event, with nearly 450 guests attending.
Publisher of Meat Management, Graham Yandell, who will host the Awards dinner on 4th June at London’s prestigious Connaught Rooms commented: “The Meat Management Industry Awards goes from strength to strength every year and this year we see yet further expansion both in voting and product entries, plus a major step forward in relation to facilities for the Awards Ceremony Dinner. I think it fair to say that the dinner is now one of the main highlights in the meat industry calendar, involving as it does most if not all the major players including retail, manufacturing and trade bodies”.
Football legend and ex-England player Sir Geoff Hurst will be the VIP guest speaker at the dinner on 4th June and that is good timing just before the World Cup in Brazil which kicks off one week later. Sir Geoff is not only a much sought after speaker and a well-known ambassador for the game, but remains the only player to have ever scored a hat-trick in a World Cup final when England secured the trophy in 1966.
Pamela Brook the editor of Meat Management magazine has the last word: “The on-going success of the Meat Management Awards is very gratifying and its most exciting to see the growth in both support and participation year on year. The whole team is looking forward to a great occasion in London on 4th June and I would like to thank everyone who has helped make the Awards the success it is.”
