Moy Park’s Northern Ireland supply chain has received the Chain of Custody (CoC) Standard, which certifies that its soy has been produced in “an environmentally appropriate, socially conscious, and economically viable way.”
The accreditation recognises that Moy Park ensures that their company-certified material has been identified and separated from non-certified and non-controlled material as it makes its way along the supply chain. The certification aims to deliver transparency across the food supply chain.
A spokesperson for Moy Park partners, Waitrose, welcomed the decision by RTRS. They added that the achievement by Moy Park supported Waitrose’s shared goals of “producing more environmentally sustainable poultry.”
Speaking about the certification, Justin Coleman, Moy Park’s agri business and live production services director, said that advancing environmental stewardship and developing the sustainable food agenda were “key elements” of the company’s journey towards net zero.
He explained: “Working closely with stakeholders and customers, we have always been fully committed to responsible sourcing. This new standard builds on our already strong credentials by providing end-to-end supply chain certification between Moy Park and the customer. We look forward to building on this achievement and increasing the volume we can provide to our partners.”
