Claus Fertin has been appointed new director of Danish Pig Research Centre (PRC). Currently CEO of VikingGenetics, Claus Fertin will take up the position on 1st August.
Claus Fertin has a strong understanding of natural sciences and economy, and has an MSc in Animal Science and a PhD in Economics.
Prior to working for VikingGenetics, Claus served as director of the Danish Meat and Research Institute and of Felleslakteriet in Oslo, Norway.
Chairman of the board of PRC, Erik Larsen commented: “Claus Fertin will bring the entire organisation to new levels. With a background such as his, he will be a strong asset in leading PRC through the administrative and professional challenges we face. He also has a solid insight into the research, development and innovation taking place in this industry and will thereby help strengthen the future development.”
It was recently decided that PRC will be transferred to the Knowledge Centre for Agriculture as of 1st January 2015, and Claus Fertin will therefore become a member of the board of the Knowledge Centre.
