Following the highly successful in-person meat awards ceremony held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on 9th September, organisers report that take up to support the 2022 event and promotion by category partners is exceptional.
Sales manager Michelle Ingerfield commented: “I can see a marked difference in the confidence of award partners to plan forward and book well in advance, to guarantee their participation next year. The new awards programme will start in January 2022 with the ceremony planned for September 2022 and already most categories have been rebooked and confirmed. We also have significant interest and some bookings from clients not previously involved.”
The annual awards returned to an in-person event this year, having been presented as an online virtual event temporarily in 2020. Around 300 guests attended and VIP host and soccer icon Kevin Keegan OBE was a big hit with the meat trade audience at the black-tie dinner.
Kevin said: “I really enjoyed myself. I have never been to anything to do with the meat industry before . They were a great crowd and for me the pleasure I got was to see the joy on the faces of the winners – it’s lovely to win things and to see that what they have done for the last year has been recognised like this.”
A short film featuring winners and many who attended the ceremony is now available online, which can be shared using this link.
Michelle Ingerfield summed up: “It’s been a big challenge for everyone over the last 18 months and it is so important that the people who work so hard and who do such a great job for the industry and the country are recognised. Our partners help make these awards happen and hats off to all of them for supporting the initiative and participating. These awards are unique and the biggest and best around. We are very proud to facilitate such a popular initiative and one that, at this time, is more important than ever.”
