Up to 500 guests are expected to attend the dinner at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole this year.

The annual Awards recognise excellence in 20 categories, which include ten product sections, plus additional reader voting too. It remains the biggest and most prestigious event of its kind directly serving the UK meat industry and is also supported by a wide range of industry partners. Up to 500 guests are expected to attend the dinner at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole this year.

Nick Purnell, head of corporate communications at Tulip said: “We are really delighted to once again give our support and sponsor the Awards this year. It’s a great platform to show the quality of the Tulip product and to be involved with an event that recognises excellence. We always set the bar high at Tulip and excellence is what we are all about. It was certainly a most enjoyable occasion last year and we are very much looking forward to this year’s presentation.”

Managing editor and publisher of Meat Management magazine Graham Yandell added: “Last year the food was superb with a great main course sponsored by Tulip. It is really is exciting that we continue to work with Tulip and I know the head chef at the Hilton is also delighted, based on the quality that was supplied for the 2018 dinner.

“It is heading up to be another record year and we certainly have had record voting and a exciting week at the Regional Food Academy in Shropshire, when judging and evaluating a fantastic range of entries. The dinner in June will also reveal this year’s Excellence Award winner, and having looked at the finalist list we have some brilliant candidates.”

Organiser Emma Cash was equally enthusiastic, saying: “It's great news that Tulip is once again sponsoring the main course at the Awards dinner this year, I am really looking forward to it.

“Over the years the Awards dinner itself has become the highlight of the meat industry’s social and business calendar and once again will be hosted by magician and illusionist Ben Hanlin, who returns by popular demand after mesmerising guests at the 2018 Awards dinner.

“Ben is a fantastic host and very funny. The feedback from last year was amazing so, luckily, we have been able to arrange for Ben to be with us again in 2019.

“Also, for the second year running, the Awards ceremony and dinner will be followed by an after party featuring The Talent, one of Britain’s best party bands, who got dinner guests dancing to the early hours back in 2018, so we are set for a memorable evening on 27th June.”
