UK representatives for the International Young Butcher Competition selected

Walter Smith’s Chris Riley, Peter Rushworth from Swans Farm Shop in Mold, Flintshire and George Parker of Frank Parker Butchers, Nuneaton have been selected to represent the United Kingdom at the International Young Butcher Competition (IYBC) in Holland on 21st and 22nd September.

The two day, six category event is recognised as the leading competition for 18 to 23 year old European butchery apprentices. Young butchers from Austria, Germany, Holland, Luxembourg and Switzerland will compete against the UK in the competition.

UK team coach and industry consultant Viv Harvey and AHDB Pork butchery development manager and chief executive of the Institute of Meat, Keith Fisher will travel with the team to Utrecht, Holland at the end of the month.
