Voting now live for the 2020 Women in Meat Awards

After receiving a wide range of nominations for this year’s Women In Meat Industry Awards, from right across the UK meat industry, voting for the finalists is now live at the official website womeninmeatawards.com.

Voting for the Women In Meat Industry Awards is now open.

The process is quick and easy. To see the finalists click here and to vote for your choice go to womeninmeatawards.com/vote

These unique annual awards will, subject to Covid-19 restrictions, culminate in a five-star black-tie dinner and ceremony in London on 13th November. Over 7,000 votes were received last time and organisers are hopeful for an even bigger response this time around.

There are 10 categories up for grabs:

The Meat Businesswoman of the Year Award will be presented to one of the winners of the other categories (excluding the Rising Star category). A panel of respected industry judges will discuss all winners and select one overall winner who has made or is making an exceptional contribution to the UK meat industry.

Graham Yandell, publisher of Meat Management magazine, said: “A massive thank you goes out to everyone who took the time to send in their nominations for these Awards.

“Despite the unique and challenging circumstances, we saw a great response for nominations with a swathe of entries coming in for truly remarkable and outstanding candidates. This initiative aims to recognise the immense and important role women play in this great industry, and we are looking forward to recognising and celebrating that later this year.”

Pam Brook, the editor of Meat Management magazine, said: “The Women In Meat Industry Awards is designed to recognise the vitally important contributions that women make to the meat sector, but voting is not for women only so please share this opportunity with as many colleagues as possible. Voting will be open for the majority of August so now is the time to check out the finalists and make your choice.”
