Graham Yandell, publisher of Meat Management magazine, said: “Despite the extraordinary challenges we have all faced this year, it was great to be able to recognise many talented people who make up our industry.

“Although Covid-19 guidelines prevented us from staging a physical ceremony, the online format, along with the help of our special guest host, Katharine Merry, allowed us to truly appreciate the hard-work and dedication of the 51 finalists plus the category winners.

"This year has presented our industry with immense challenges and so it is only right that we take the time to acknowledge the extraordinary women who have played their part in keeping the nation fed."

“Having received over 9,000 votes for this year’s initiative, the Women in Meat Industry Awards 2020 will certainly go down as one of the most memorable yet with wide industry engagement. However, those who were unable to tune into the ceremony live can stream the full video on-demand now - so be sure to catch up on all the proceedings.

“Finally, I would like to say a big thank you to our partners, our host Katharine Merry and to offer many congratulations to all the winners and finalists.”

Editor of Meat Management magazine, Pam Brook, added: “A huge well done to all of the winners and finalists that featured in this truly unique ceremony. This year has presented our industry with immense challenges and so it is only right that we take the time to acknowledge the extraordinary women who have played their part in keeping the nation fed.

“As always, there will be a full breakdown of all the winners and finalists in the latest edition of Meat Management, including comments from our esteemed judges and valued partners.”
