The home of the Worshipful Company of Butchers, the Livery Hall in Smithfield has been in the spotlight recently. Not only were there record numbers at the first Court Lunch back in the new Hall, but HRH The Princess Royal officially opened it at the beginning of the month.

This special dinner certainly embraced the première theme, with guests greeted with a red carpet and paparazzi before being introduced to George Clooney and Marilyn Monroe look-a-likes.

The attendance of special guest, Raymond Blanc OBE added further to the evening, with the renowned chef signing cookbooks, mingling with guests and, after dinner, sharing his own personal journey and love of food.

One lucky ticket holder even won dinner, bed and breakfast at his celebrated Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire.

Meat Management director, Rob Yandell who is a member of Court for the WCB attended the dinner. He said: “I think everyone should be congratulated on creating a special evening befitting the occasion. The new Butchers’ Hall is a wonderful venue and the fun, food and fellowship of this Première Dinner has delivered something we will all remember.”
