Changes to FMT Food Industry Awards announced

The Food Management Today Industry Awards 2021 has extended the entry deadline for product nominations to 2nd November 2020, offering companies throughout the meat and food industry more time to nominate their products for judging.

Michel Roux Jr. hosting the Food Management Today Industry Awards 2020.

Meat processors and retailers from the meat sector are able to nominate products for theses categories:  Best Red Meat Product, Best Poultry Product, Best Frozen Product, Best Free From Product, Best New Product Development and the Most Innovative Packaging Development category.

The actual product judging will take place at Harper Adams University test kitchens and due to increasing demand, the updated time period will allow more time for dealing with the volume of entries by being pushed back to late November.

Voting is open for a number of other categories, including the Food Industry Champion Award and the deadline for these voting categories has also been extended to the new 2nd November date. Details can be found here.

“We will, as always, keep monitoring the situation, but have every reason to believe that the physical ceremony will take place bringing the industry together to network.”

Organisers have also confirmed that next year’s awards ceremony will be staged as an evening dinner rather than a lunch and is scheduled for the evening of 18th March 2021 at the five-star Royal Garden Hotel, London.

Sharon Yandell of Food Management Today which organises the initiative, said: “Despite all the efforts of Covid-19 we had a great ceremony back in March hosted by Michel Roux Jr. and these quality Awards remain unique in rewarding excellence across 16 categories, going from strength to strength every year.

“We will, as always, keep monitoring the situation, but have every reason to believe that the physical ceremony will take place bringing the industry together to network. Naturally, all guidance will be observed to ensure we have a safe and enjoyable celebration. Should things need to change we will advise.”
