The Yorkshire Wagyu Company has won the Chamber Bridlington and Yorkshire Coast Business Awards prize for Best Start Up Business at a ceremony at Bridlington Spa.

The event recognises the achievements of East and North Yorkshire businessmen and women and is presented by the Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce.

Director of the Tibthorpe beef business, Jonathan Shepherd said: "We're very proud to have won this high profile award that will help us to put The Yorkshire Wagyu Company on the culinary map."

After two years spent establishing a herd of full and cross bred Wagyu beef in the UK, Wolds farmers Jonathan Shepherd and Jim Bloom launched The Yorkshire Wagyu Company to sell their premium beef direct. It is available from the Balloon Tree and from selected restaurants throughout Yorkshire.
