FMT Food Awards judging week ‘a great success’

This year’s FMT Food Industry Awards product judging has concluded for 2023. The process took place at the Harper Adams University test kitchens and judges are reported to be delighted with the variety and quality of entrants.

Voting for this year’s awards in the non-product categories is also reported to be strong and well up on last year. All results will be revealed at a 5-star dinner and ceremony taking place on the evening of 6th June at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London.

Head judge of the annual initiative and CEO of the Institute of Meat, Keith Fisher, said he was delighted with the judging this year commenting: “It has been remarkable and a great success. Once again we have seen many fantastic products entered, which come into us for evaluation from a wide range of leading businesses. It really is a pleasure to be part of the judging process for these unique awards.”

Event organiser Sharon Yandell commented: “We always have several categories of direct interest to the meat industry including the Best Red Meat category and Best Poultry category. We are also looking for the Food Industry Champion – an award for an outstanding contribution to the industry by an individual, which last year was won by Bill Jermey of the IoM.

“All the results for products and voting are now being collated and I know we are set for a great night on 6th June when the ceremony takes place, with a first-class dinner and brilliant entertainment. This event brings the industry together for a night of networking and everyone can celebrate together in superb surroundings.”

Keith Fisher concluded: “As is usual, the standards when product judging for these awards are high and competition is very strong. I am really looking forward to the ceremony on 6th June when winners and finalists are revealed.”
