The BDCI has a new festival chairman for 2015 Rose Price.
Head of buying for ocado.com, Rose is well known throughout the meat industry. She began her career as a trainee butcher at Bishops Food Stores, before attending Smithfield College where she gained a number of meat qualifications. Her career path then took her into the abattoir sector and on to work in retail, initially specialising in meat procurement before expanding her portfolio across all products.
Rose has always taken a keen interest in the BDCI and meat education. She said: “It is real honour and privileged to take on this role. It provides me with an opportunity to add value to the work of the BDCI.”
Rose takes over the reins from past festival chairman Norman Hatcliff. She added: “Norman was an influential festival chairman and will be a challenging act to follow.”
