Nottingham-based online high-protein food delivery company MuscleFood has been acquired by Boparan Private Office (BPO) following a brief period in administration.

Founded in 2013, MuscleFood is a direct-to-customer online retailer specialising in high-protein foods including lean meats, ready meals, food hampers and supplements.
Its accounts for the year ending 31st July 2025 showed a 25% decrease in turnover compared with the previous year and the company cited “challenging trading conditions” in recent years that resulted in supply chain disruption.
On 21st July 2026, Stuart Kelly and Claire Harsley from insolvency firm Mackay Goodwin were appointed as administrators with a message posted on the company’s website notifying the change. Former owner and CEO Nicholas Preston subsequently left the business.
“We will be fully evaluating the business, using the strength of our established supply chain to deliver a great product and service to Muscle Food customers in this new era.”
