The company, which has a £17m turnover, has installed a number of new generation blast freezer units at two of its manufacturing sites in North Yorkshire, in addition to investing in a 22-pallet portable cold store.

Holmesterne supplies products to customers in retail, manufacturing and foodservice. It selected Blue Cube to provide the units and portable cold store – which will operate at frozen to store newly developed products.

The investment follows the announcement a couple of months back that Shaun Bedford was joining Holmesterne’s senior management team as head of operations.

Bedford has worked in the permanent and interim market for over 30 years and has specialised in the meat sector both in the UK and overseas.

Commenting on the recent investment, Bedford said: “The units from Blue Cube have not only doubled our freezer and chiller capacity but have also future-proofed the Leeming Bar and Brompton sites.

“Their offering meant adding 70 pallet spaces to our blast freezing facility whilst reducing operating costs through more efficient equipment.”
