With the Friday 23rd May deadline for the 2025 MM Meat Industry Awards product nominations now imminent, organisers are urging all interested businesses to nominate their products free of charge in this year’s major initiative.

The meat industry’s biggest annual awards initiative will once again celebrate the very best in the UK and Irish meat industry. The 2025 awards ceremony will be held on Thursday 18th September at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, near to the NEC.

Manufacturers, suppliers, foodservice, retailers and butchers, as well as training scheme providers and trade organisations will be in attendance at the prestigious black-tie event in September.

Product nominations and awards voting will close on Friday 23rd May, and entrants who have nominated products by the forthcoming deadline will be contacted with all the specific details regarding when and how to send products for judging at the Regional Food Academy, based at Harper Adams University, Shropshire.

Judging will take place between Tuesday 10th to Friday 13th June 2025, with Keith Fisher of the Institute of Meat heading up the judging panel.

Entry is free of charge, and you can submit unlimited nominations. All products must be manufactured in the British Isles, including Ireland, and nominated products will be evaluated on to a strict and established criteria.

  • Britain’s Best Sausage

Readers can also vote and nominate across 10 additional categories up until the deadline. Included in these categories are Best Equipment/Machinery Supplier, Best Trade Organisation, the Catering Butcher Award and the Young Manager of the Year Award, plus the prestigious 2025 Excellence Award, which goes to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the industry.

Pete Firman to host the 2025 awards

Following a sparkling drinks reception and black-tie dinner, comedian and celebrity magician Pete Firman will host the awards ceremony.

Pete will make his way onto the MM Meat Industry Awards stage to announce the winner of each category, but not before giving guest an entertaining show to remember.
