Coleg Cambria will host its inaugural Wales Butchery Conference on 27th October, bringing together manufacturers, butchers and educators, with a focus on tackling recruitment challenges in the industry.
The event is the first of its kind in Wales and aims to give businesses of all sizes, including manufacturers, suppliers and butchers, as well as industry experts the opportunity to connect and collaborate.
Delegates will have the opportunity to network with butchers, professionals and industry bodies, and there will be trade stands where they can explore some of the latest innovations in the industry.
Planned speakers at the event include:
- Terry Fennel, FDQ CEO, who will talk about butchery apprenticeships in Wales
- National Craft Butchers
- Matt Loughrey of The Burnt Chef Project, who will talk about mental health support in the food industry
- Castell Howell Foods
Coleg Cambria is a hub for food and drink training in North Wales and has set up the event to tackle what it highlights as the most pressing challenge for the industry: inspiring and recruiting the next generation of butchery talent coming into the industry.
