Wrights Food Group, established nearly 100 years ago, has been snapped up by Compleat Food Group.
Now headquartered in Crewe, the family firm was set up by Jack and Lizzie Wright who sold pies to their neighbours in Stoke-on-Trent. The company has a 600-strong workforce and supplies savoury products, confectionery and ready meals to the retail and foodservice industries.
Wrights Food Group also runs a chain of 15 branded bakery stores across the Northwest.
Paul Monk, executive chair of The Compleat Food Group, said: “We are delighted to welcome the Wrights Food Group into our Pastry Division. This move enables us to better serve our customers and offer a greater range of products, helping the group to further strengthen its position in UK retail and foodservice.”
The Compleat Food Group was formed by the merger of Winterbotham Darby and Addo Food Group earlier this year.
