The pace of change in the red meat sector has never been faster during the current Covid-19 outbreak, prompting Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) to launch a series of six weekly podcasts hosted by broadcaster, Mark Stephen.
Spanning topics including market trends, brand communications, and industry development projects, the episodes will draw together experts, farmers and stakeholders to hear their views and the all-important facts.
In the first episode, available now, QMS senior economics analyst, Iain Macdonald, explains the impact of Covid-19 on markets and Bruce McConachie, head of industry development with QMS, talks about the work his team are doing to help farmers and stakeholders move forward with new innovative ideas during this uncertain time.
The series comes as more than 7 million people in the UK listen to podcasts every week, making it one of the fastest growing communication methods in the last three years.
Lesley Cameron, director of marketing and communications at QMS said: “We are always looking at new ways to connect with our industry and podcasts are the ideal modern platform for communicating in-depth information on topical issues and QMS news.”
The podcast series is available through Apple Podcast, Buzzsprout, and Spotify, as well as via the Quality Meat Scotland website and social channels.
