The meat industry’s major annual awards event continues to go from strength to strength, with organisers YPL Events & Exhibitions reporting a record uptake of partner renewals.
Organiser Emma Cash said: “The majority of our MM Meat Awards 2016 category partners have already confirmed their involvement and have booked the new 2017 campaign. The response from our partners has surpassed all expectations over such a short time period, and is very encouraging.”
Less than three weeks has passed since the 2016 presentation dinner in London, and already 18 of the 20 categories have been booked by companies and organisations keen to participate in Britain’s biggest awards event for the UK meat trade.
The new 2017 programme starts this coming November when the voting edition of Meat Management magazine is published. Online voting and product nominations also go live in November.
Scheduled over a full nine-month period the awards include the popular black tie presentation dinner next summer. This prestigious networking event is set to attract around 450 guests or more and next year returns to the Birmingham Hilton Metropole Hotel.
This year’s dinner was hosted by TV broadcaster and author Gyles Brandreth, and according to many guests was the best yet. Many of 2016’s partners have praised the evening and given positive feedback as well as enthusiastic support.
Weddel Swift is one of the many companies supporting the awards again next year.
Richard Field, chief executive of Weddel Swift, said: “The event celebrates the culmination of all the hard work and innovation that has taken place in our industry during the year. It is an accolade to all the participants, especially the finalists, who deserve recognition for all their endeavours.”
Arthur Pynenburg, managing director, Treif UK Ltd, is also one of the returning partners.
He said: “The dinner is a highlight in the industry calendar and Treif is delighted to be a partner.”
John Lakin, managing director, Multivac UK, is also partnering the 2017 awards campaign once again.
He commented: “The Meat Management Industry Awards is a highly respected industry event and the awards set a benchmark for meat manufacturing excellence.”
Ian Mackway, general manager of RAPS UK Ltd, another regular partner, added: “Pushing the boundaries with product innovation is part of RAPS’ daily life and the Meat Management Industry Awards ensure that this important aspect of the business is acknowledged and encouraged.”
Meat Management editor Emily Ansell Elfer was enthusiastic about the response: “It’s wonderful to see such an immediate surge of support from the industry for what truly is Britain’s premier meat awards event. The awards campaign and dinner would not be possible without the support of our partners and we really appreciate their endorsement.
“In fact we are already planning and looking forward to the presentation dinner in 2017 and we will be working hard to ensure it delivers for all involved and, if it’s possible, to be bigger and better than ever before.”
