With all voting now completed and scheduled for the evening of Thursday 18th November at the Hilton London Metropole, the unique annual Awards celebrate the extensive contribution women make to the UK meat industry and presentations will be made across 10 categories with winners selected from 46 finalists.

The initiative, which includes the Meat Businesswoman of the Year Award, is supported by a range of industry partners and organised by Meat Management magazine. Bill Jermey of the Food & Drink Training & Education Council, which partners the Training & Education category said: “This is a great initiative and from the outset we wanted to fully support and highlight the brilliant job women do in the workplace, as well as the importance of training and education and the opportunities that are available.”

He continued: “The Awards also challenge any stereotypical view about the meat and food industry being dominated by men. There will be many great role models recognised on awards night and also through the subsequent publicity which highlights what great career opportunities exist in the industry for female talent. We are delighted to participate.”

Reiser UK is another long standing partner supporting the manufacturing category and is also the sponsor of the ceremony drinks reception on 18th November. MD Richard Watson was enthusiastic commenting: “Women play a huge part in the business and being involved with the Women In Meat Industry Awards demonstrates our support for the brilliant women who make such an important contribution right across the sector. There still can be a rather old-fashioned view held by some that the industry is male dominated. Of course it was once, but that is certainly not the case in today’s modern market. We are looking forward to a great celebration of talent on 18th November.”

Emily Fox of YPL Exhibitions & Events added: “With availability becoming limited, now is the time to book your table or tickets. We are set for a sell-out occasion on 18th November and based on the past success of the 2019 in-person ceremony and the recent Meat Industry Awards at Birmingham, it promises to be yet another fantastic evening. It is also an excellent networking event and definitely one not to be missed for both men and women.”
