The organisers of the Women In Meat Industry Awards have reported an incredible response to the voting process, with around 3,000 votes received across the various categories.
The voting process is now closed, and the winner of each of the seven public voting categories will be revealed at the black tie awards dinner and presentation ceremony on 16th November at The Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington.
An eighth award, Meat Businesswoman of The Year Award, will also be presented to one of the winners (excluding The Rising Star Category) at the dinner and ceremony. The recipient of this special accolade will be selected by a panel of respected meat industry judges.
Awards organiser Emma Cash has commented on the response to the voting process: “After whittling down the nominations to four finalists per category, we received around 3,000 plus votes across the categories. It is therefore safe to say that the voting aspect of the Women In Meat Industry Awards has been a huge success. We have also seen huge support on social media with our hashtag #WomenInMeat in full use.
“We are currently still in the process of counting up the votes and we can’t wait to celebrate and crown our winners in London on 16th November, with celebrity chef and businesswoman Lesley Waters acting as host.”
Meat Management publisher Graham Yandell added: “We are delighted with the response we have received so far for the Women In Meat Industry Awards. It is so important to recognise all the important contribution that women make across the UK meat industry, and we are delighted to see our readers getting behind this important campaign. I want to wish the best of luck to all the finalists, and I’m sure the awards ceremony and dinner on 16th November will be a night to remember!”
