Former Tesco senior executive John Kirkpatrick has joined producer Chesterfield Poultry Limited, the company has announced.
The South Yorkshire food producer revealed that Kirkpatrick has taken up the role of director of agriculture. Formerly agriculture manager at UK retailer Tesco, responsible for poultry and eggs across Asia, South America and Europe, he also sat on the Assured Food Standards (Red Tractor) poultry board, representing the British Retail Consortium (BRC) between 2015 and 2023.
Chesterfield Poultry said that Kirkpatrick brings over two decades of agricultural, technical and commercial experience across both poultry and eggs.
His responsibilities will include overseeing the agricultural supply chain at Chesterfield Poultry, which is home to multiple poultry producing and processing sites.
“It’s an exciting time for Chesterfield Poultry,” said managing director Nadeem Iqbal. “We are delighted to welcome John to the Chesterfield family, recognising his strong agricultural and commercial experience.
"He has built his career on strong and trusted relationships with the farming supply chain which will help us to continue to deliver and grow with our farming supply base and meet the needs of our customers.”
