CP Foods (UK) has acquired a majority stake in UK foodservice supplier, The Foodfellas Ltd.
CP Foods has confirmed that the directors of The Foodfellas Ltd will retain a significant shareholding in the new business and will work alongside CP Foods to enhance the company.
A statement from Clive Britton, commercial director of CP Foods, said: “This is a great move for both businesses. From the beginning of the discussions it was clear that we had a shared heritage in and passion for the food industry and that we were jointly committed to doing better business and bringing great tasting products to all our customers – and their consumers.
Marc Werter, director of The Foodfellas Ltd, added: “We are delighted to be able to join the extended family of such a dynamic and exciting global business. We’ve spent the last decade working tirelessly to ensure The Foodfellas is the best possible business it can be – sharing a range of targeted products with some of the biggest names in foodservice.”
Werter continued: “Our product ranges complement each other perfectly and ensure that our combined portfolio is now not only comprehensive in its scope and scale, but also best in class in terms of performance, taste and customer service.”
CP Foods currently supplies chilled and frozen products for the retail, foodservice and ingredients markets, both for it clients and own brands, including Chillers a chilled and sliced cooked chicken brand.
