National Craft Butchers (NCB) has revealed the winners of bronze, silver and gold awards in its annual national competition.
More than 40 butchery businesses took part and between them submitted more than 300 products for the judging panel to evaluate at a competition, held over two days on 3rd and 4th September.
Keith Fisher, of the Institute of Meat, led the judging panel, which included NCB president Richard Douglas; Scottish National Craft Butchers president Laura Black; The Craft Bakers Association president elect Duncan Hindley; and other representatives from across the industry.
NCB’s managing director, Eleanor O’Brien, commented on the awards: ”It’s fantastic to see the awards becoming more and more popular – and testimony both to the quality of the products being made by our members and their pride and confidence in those products.”
Winners will now display their certificates in their shops and use the digital badge showing their product’s gold, silver or bronze status across digital and social channels.
