Voting now live for the 2021 Women In Meat Industry Awards
Having received a wide range of nominations for this year’s Women In Meat Industry Awards, from right across the UK meat industry, voting for the finalists is now live at the official website.
Final deadline for voting is 15th September and the process is quick and easy. To see the 2021 finalists and to vote for your choice go to: https://womeninmeatawards.com/vote/
After going online in 2020, because of Covid-19 restrictions, the unique annual awards ceremony will once again return to its usual format as an in-person event this year, culminating in a black-tie dinner and ceremony with an after party at the Hilton London Metropole on 18th November. Over 9,000 votes were received last year and organisers are hopeful for another substantial response this time around.
In 2020 the Awards recognised 10 winners in different categories with the overall Meat Businesswoman of the Year Award going to Margaret Boanas of IMTA.
Olympic medallist, broadcaster, and sports personality Katharine Merry has now been confirmed as the celebrity host for the 2021 Women In Meat Industry Awards dinner and ceremony, having presented the event online in 2020. She said: “I am really delighted to participate again in 2021 and I look forward to meeting real people at a live ceremony which I know is going to be amazing.”
Editor of Meat Management Jane Connolly added: “All the team at Meat Management are really looking forward to recognising the amazing contribution women make to our industry.
“We are particularly delighted that Katharine can join us to host the evening in person having done so online last year and I hope as many readers as possible will now vote for the 2021 finalists.
“There is a wealth of talent across our industry and we at Meat Management are so pleased that our initiative has been received so well since its launch back in 2018. It’s a very special awards and a wonderful evening when we celebrate the great women who contribute so much.”
