Voting and product nominations are in full swing for the 2019 MM Meat Industry Awards, and organisers YPL Exhibitions & Events are reminding manufacturers’ and retailers’ that the deadline of 6th March for nominating products is fast approaching. The message is act now!
The organisers also report that both votes and product nominations are flooding into the Meat Management office. With the deadline of March 6th for product nominations and voting, participants should act without delay.
The actual Awards ceremony and black tie dinner is scheduled for Thursday 27th June 2019 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, with over 400 guests expected.
Before then, a week of intense product judging and evaluations will take place at the Regional Food Academy, Harper Adams University in Shropshire, where a team of home economists and judges will get through around 1,000 products across 10 categories.
Headed up by Chief Judge and CEO of the Institute of Meat, Keith Fisher, winners can expect a massive boost in business, as can the category finalists, once all results are revealed at the prestigious ceremony. Entering products for the Awards is free and multiple entries are available for different products. Full details can be found here.
Over the years the Awards dinner itself has become the highlight of the meat industry’s social and business calendar and once again will be hosted by magician and illusionist Ben Hanlin, who returns by popular demand after mesmerising guests at the 2018 Awards dinner.
Also, for the second year running, the Awards ceremony and dinner will be followed by an after party featuring The Talent, one of Britain’s best party bands, who got dinner guests dancing to the early hours back in 2018.
Managing Editor and Publisher of Meat Management Graham Yandell commented: “We refreshed the event last year and it continues to go from strength to strength as the meat industry’s big night every year. New bespoke trophies were a big hit as was the introduction of dancing to a live band.
The night is all about rewarding excellence, so now we have an updated format where everyone can really celebrate in style. Ben Hanlin is also a brilliant host!
“However the key message at present is to get those products entered by going online to the website. Entry is free and multiple products can be nominated. This really is the big one and the accolade to win as far as the meat industry is concerned.”

The deadline for nominations is 6th March. It’s quick, easy and free to enter. Categories for voting are also available to view online with easy voting options, and again the deadline is 6th March. When products are nominated the event organiser will send back all support paperwork by email with full details of how and where to send your products.
