The popular UK Sausage Week (UKSW) returns again later this year, taking place over the 27th October-2nd November period. This follows its successful return in 2024.
As usual, butchers, supermarkets, foodservice and manufacturers across the UK will be involved. The week commences with a celebration lunch on 27th October 2025 at the prestigious Butchers’ Hall, London, when the UK Supreme Sausage Champion will be revealed alongside a host of category winners.
The national product competition to find this year’s sausage champions will be judged in August, and the deadline for product nominations is 1st August. Once nominated, all entrants will receive full instructions about how and where to send their sausage products.
Once again, the popular competition will be headed up by chief judge Keith Fisher of the Institute of Meat (IoM), and around 600 to 800 products are expected to be entered. Fisher commented: “Entries in previous years have been outstanding and once again we are looking forward to UK Sausage Week so we can celebrate all things sausage!”
Editor of Meat Management magazine Gwen Mostyn added: “UK Sausage Week is a great way of promoting sausages in the run up to and over the period of Halloween and Bonfire Night. It is always good to see retailers and manufacturers launching new products or reinventing old ones and organising fun events, plus gaining local and even national media coverage.”

Winners of the UKSW Competition often report significant increases in sausage sales, and companies and retailers that innovate and get involved can maximise on the profile UKSW creates. The week normally attracts national and local media interest and coverage, and organisers will be spreading the word to make sure all the key people are aware.
