2 Sisters Red Meat procurement director to leave

2 Sisters has announced that its red meat procurement director John Dracup has decided to step down from his position after 22 years, to pursue his passion for farming, along with other opportunities.

Dracup will continue to work with the business until January 2018, when he will be succeeded by Prys Morgan, who was appointed head of livestock procurement at the Merthyr Tydfil plant last month.

The two will work together over the next six months to ensure a smooth handover.

Dracup has a vast knowledge of livestock and market conditions and has represented the business in many forums, including a Parliament at Select Committee Enquiries, and externally represented the red meat industry.

Commenting on his departure, he said: “It has been a very difficult decision to tender my resignation after so many years in the business, but there are other passions I have outside the business and now is the right time to take up fresh challenges.”

2 Sisters Red Meat MD, Andrew Cracknell, added: “John will be hugely missed. His passion and knowledge for livestock is second to none and his recognition both internally and externally as one of the leaders in his field within the UK is truly deserved.”
