Details announced for 2017 World Angus Forum
The 2017 World Angus Forum, which takes place from 16th June to 2nd July, has revealed its full programme, as it prepares to “delve into the world of beef production” and look at current and future issues and trends.
The 2017 World Angus Forum will take place from 16th June to 2nd July.
The Forum takes place every four years and provides a platform for the exchange of genetics information and breeding objectives, while also acting as a forum for the youth that will hopefully form the future of the Aberdeen-Angus breed.
This year’s forum will include a two-day technical conference, called ‘From consumption to conception’, which will offer attendees an insight into the world of beef production. A wide array of speakers will cover various issues in the food industry, such as how data, genetics and genomics can help improve the consumer’s experience and how Aberdeen-Angus cattle can be beneficial to both human health and the environment.
Alongside the conference, the forum also has a full itinerary to educate, entertain and inspire its global delegates, with national tours of England, Scotland and Ireland, including visits to notable Aberdeen-Angus herds.
It will also present a Youth Competition, in which teams of selected young members from all over the world will compete against each other in livestock, agri-skills and social challenges, coming to an end in the grand finale at Netherton Farm, Perthshire, on 2nd July.
Chairman of the World Angus Forum 2017 and president of the Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society, Alex Sanger, said: “The Forum presents us with a magnificent opportunity to bring breed enthusiasts together from all over the world, all with the same aim, to share our stories, skills and passion related to the world-class Aberdeen-Angus breed.”
