Hammond’s Butchers appoints new head butcher

Hammond’s Butchers & Deli in Brentford, London, has announced the appointment of new head butcher, Phill Rickett.

Rickett has had an extensive career with over 30 years of experience in the butchery business, including managing the Meat Department at Harvey Nichols.

He was also the sales manager for meat and poultry at Harrods.

Hammond’s Butchers & Deli co-owner Derek Ferguson said: “Phill brings with him a real commitment to use only the highest quality independent suppliers from the very best UK farms and crofts.

“His expertise and enthusiasm in sharing good practice has led Phill to run a series of masterclasses and events where members of the public can try out their own butchery skills and learn about the importance of cuts and great provenance.”

Phill’s appointment has allowed long standing senior butcher, Ken Hammond, to take a step back from the business – although he’ll still be working in the shop on Friday’s.

Hammond’s Butchers & Deli sells a wide range of products, such as award-winning free range meat, poultry and game sourced from farms across the UK.

Shoppers can also select from a range of cheeses, charcuterie, pies and English sparkling wines.

The shop has also recently introduced a loyalty card scheme which offers substantial discounts across the shop, including on new lines of wines and Champagnes.
