Meat theft at Sussex farm shop
Farm shop, Perryhill Orchards, near Hartfield in Sussex has had approximately £2,000 worth of meat products stolen in what Sussex police has described as a ‘well planned attack’.
According to Sussex police the raiders struck at the farm shop at around 7.45pm on Friday 30th December after the owner had left for the evening. They are said to have crashed through a gate and a fence before breaking into the shop and taking goods from the shop’s walk-in fridge.
Amongst the products stolen was bacon marked Stirchley Bacon Company and lamb marked Marsh Green Lamb.
Police believe the stolen produce may be offered quickly for sale in the Sussex or Kent areas.
Anyone who saw anybody acting suspiciously in the area in the time before the raid are being asked to call 101, quoting serial 1109 of 30/12, or e-mail 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk.
