The winners of the 2024 UK Sausage Week competition have been exclusively revealed at a sell-out celebration lunch which took place at Butchers’ Hall, London.
UK Sausage Week, which kicked off with a celebration luncheon today at Butchers’ Hall, runs from 28th October through to 3rd November. Many butchers, retailers, supermarkets, manufacturers and foodservices are getting involved with the promotion.
The awards presentations followed a convivial drinks reception and a sausage themed lunch, with the sausages for the main course provided by Owen Taylor & Sons, who also won the Best Cumberland Sausage category.
The Master of the Worshipful Company of Butchers (WCB) John Allton Jones was guest of honour at the lunch and assisted Graham Yandell MBE, the publisher of Meat Management magazine, in announcing and presenting the various category awards.
The Master commented: “It’s been another very special day here at Butchers’ Hall and a real pleasure for me to join in the celebrations. Like everyone, I enjoy a tasty sausage and celebrating the great British banger each autumn is a brilliant idea.”
