The Institute of Meat (IoM) is set to host a Cranswick Country Foods factory tour, with registration open to interested members of industry.

The Institute of Meat aims to provide opportunities for its members to develop their knowledge and career prospects in the meat industry.
The next education and networking day is set for Wednesday 12th August and IoM said it had linked up with one of its endorsed processors to host a ‘Pork Education Day’ at Cranswick Country Foods in Preston.
The day will consist of a full factory tour, as well as an introduction to Cranswick and an overview of its business operations at the Preston facility.
This event is free to attend, and interested individuals are eligible to attend with an IoM member.

In an invitation to its members, IoM chief executive Dave Smith said that the tour would be a “huge opportunity” to further develop knowledge about pork, and also to network with other members of industry. He described it as a chance to gain an understanding of various areas within the sector in order to aid future development and career opportunities.
The day will commence at 9.30am and finish around 2.00pm, with lunch provided.
Places for the event are limited. To register your interest, email Sheryl Horne shorne@instituteofmeat.org. Formal invitations will be sent at the beginning of August.
