Sainsbury’s and Tesco recall tinned beef products

Sainsbury’s and Tesco have recalled some of their canned pasta products as they maintain contain pieces of rubber.

The recall specifically refers to Sainsbury’s Beef Ravioli in Tomatoa Sauce, 400g, with a ‘best before’ end date of January 2019; Tesco Beef Ravioli, 400g, with a ‘best before’ end date of December 2018; Tesco Everyday Value Beef Ravioli, 400g with a ‘best before’ end date of April 2019; as well as Sainsbury’s Macaroni Cheese, 410g, with a ‘best before’ end date of January 2019.

All the products were manufactured by Noliko N.V in Belgium.

Both retailers have displayed product recall notices in stores selling the products.

In a statement Sainsbury’s said: “As a precautionary measure, we are asking all customers who have bought these products not to consume them, and to return it to their nearest Sainsbury’s store where they will receive a full refund.”

Tesco offered a similar statement, which read: “We have been made aware that a small number of Tesco Ravioli cans may potentially contain pieces of rubber. We are recalling affected batch codes as a precautionary measure.

“Please return the affected products to store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required.”

No other Sainsbury’s or Tesco products or batches are known to be affected.
