FMT Food Awards Judging – behind the scenes
The Food Management Today Industry Awards product categories have now been judged and the winners and finalists are being selected, as the countdown to the prestigious Awards ceremony and industry lunch starts in earnest. All is set to be revealed on 3rd February 2017 at the five star Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, London when the UK food industry will come together to celebrate excellence.
Celebrity chef John Torode will host the Awards.
The Awards include eight voting categories and six product categories and will be hosted by celebrity chef John Torode, perhaps best known for his role as a judge and presenter of the MasterChef television series.
This year judges allowed the cameras in to the Regional Food Academy at Harper Adams University to capture a few moments from the judging days and to get a flavour of what happened.
Head judge Keith Fisher commented: “These Awards are very exciting and really do offer a benchmark for the food industry including the meat sector. We are seeing growth in the participation by many leading companies and retailers, and the spread and quality of products is improving year by year.”
Event organiser Emma Cash added: “The FMT Industry Awards are going from strength to strength every year. The recent product judging was a great success and I am sure all those involved will find it interesting to take a peek behind the scenes.”
