Meat industry golfers unite for charity

The Butchers’ and Drovers’ Charitable Institution (BDCI) has called for keen golfers in the meat industry to help raise funds for the charity by attending a golf day at the Surrey Downs Golf Club in Kingswood on 21st September.

The Butchers’ and Drovers’ Charitable Institution’s golf day.

The annual event promises a day of golf, entertainment and fine dining, and is supported by companies within the meat trade that wish to help BDCI with its cause to provide support for anyone in the UK and the Republic of Ireland that has been connected in any way with the meat trade, as well as their widows/widowers or dependents.

Golfers attending will have the opportunity to win a number of competitions, including a ‘beat the professional’ on a par three hole, four longest drives and four nearest the pins challenges. The three highest scores will also win prizes.

The day will commence with a breakfast reception and finish with a three-course meal, charity auction and handing out the prizes.

The charity welcomes new teams or individuals to join them on the day, with bookings costing £100 for individuals and £350 for teams, inclusive of meal, golf etc. There is a maximum of 24 teams that will be able to attend and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Places for the golf day can be reserved by completing an online booking form on www.bdci.org.uk.
