The annual Awards ceremony will see the best of the best from the UK meat sector rewarded for their hard work, innovation, products and service. This includes the Excellence Award, presented to an industry player who has made an outstanding contribution to the industry.

Apart from an excellent dinner, guests will be entertained by popular comedian and actor, Miles Jupp, who will co-host the awards presentation.

The Awards set a high benchmark for the meat industry and many of the biggest names participate or partner the categories.

Winners from the 2016 ceremony included Morrisons, for the Best Free From Product; Tulip Ltd, for the Red Meat Product of The Year; and Bizerba, for the Best Equipment / Machinery Supplier.

Chris Thomas, who at the time of last year’s event was the CEO for Tulip Ltd, explained how delighted the team were to have received such a prestigious award:  “Being recognised by our industry peers makes this achievement all the more special,” he said.

Aubrey Allen won the Best Lamb Product category and Martin Crombie, head of product development at the  Aubrey Allen Leamington-based butchers shop said: “It is a huge honour to be recognised for creative work in such a strong field – butchery is as much an art as it is a craft and to win this award is a real privilege.”

Mark Turnbull, the national chairman for the Q Guild Butchers, concurred, after picking up the Award for the Best Trade Organisation: “It is an honour to have won this Award, and to be recognised in our industry is truly humbling,” said Mark.

The Meat Management Industry Awards are supported by some of the most high profile companies and associations from across the sector, from the likes of AHDB Beef and Lamb to SealedAir, Handtmann and Coolkit.

Monisha Singh, marketing communications manager for AHDB Beef and Lamb, commented: “We believe that for the meat industry to thrive, it needs to recognise some of the best products we have on the market and share messages around quality and innovation with consumers – and the Meat Management Industry Awards are the ideal platform for us to be able to do that.”

Awards organiser Emma Cash is urging potential attendees to secure their seat for the Awards ceremony now to avoid disappointment: “Tickets are selling fast, and it would be a shame for those considering buying tickets to miss out due to the popularity of the event.

“The Meat Management Industry Awards are so important for our industry, and present a fantastic occasion to stand shoulder to shoulder with like-minded and hard-working individuals, and to reward those who put their all into providing the finest services and products for the meat sector. It’s brilliant for networking too.”
