Powters gets new Tesco listings
Family-run Newmarket sausage producer, Powters, has announced it has gained new store listings with Tesco for its Newmarket Pig and Skinny Pig sausages.
The fifth-generation sausage company has been producing its Newmarket Pig sausages since 1881 and has worked steadily with Tesco since the 1990s selling its Newmarket Pig and Skinny Pig (a premium, low fat and gluten free sausage) in stores throughout the East Anglia region.
Powters says this new deal gives it a stronger presence in the East Midland’s regions including Grimsby, Nottingham and areas near Leicester and Sheffield, allowing Powters to reach a new customer base further afield.
“This is an exciting expansion for the Powters brand and a substantial step in expanding nationally and increasing our production and distribution,” explained Tristan Powter at Powters. “We have secured a brilliant customer base in East Anglia but we now want to grow this success in other areas and these new listings with Tesco will help us achieve this.”
